Wiseman Lighting helped manage the planning and installation of new sports lighting at Lancing College.
The Sussex-based school were experiencing major challenges with gaining planning permission for their existing sand dressed hockey facility.
Due to the location in a ‘Dark Skies’ area and in South Downs National Park, Lancing College needed a system with advanced optical light control.
This would allow them to minimise the spill light and upward light in an environmentally sensitive area.
We presented the college with an LED lighting strategy that reduced light spill and offered significant energy savings and increased reliability.
Furthermore, with the support of GrassRoots Power CIC, a planning application was drafted, submitted and approved, allowing the facility to be delivered in an efficient and effective manner.
